Call To Entry Opportunities For Basketry and Fiber Exhibits

Rome Art Center and Community Center Call for Entries
Rome Art And Community Center is a premiere Art Gallery in Central New York. RACC is home to four unique gallery spaces, all under the roof of a beautiful Tudor mansion. RACC is constantly searching for fresh talent to exhibit in its galleries. They are now accepting portfolios for the 2010 & 2011 Visual Arts Seasons.

Opportunities at Society for Contemporary Craft - Pittsburg, PA
Exhibitions at SCC are scheduled one to two years in advance and are thematic or media specific. Most are invitational, however there are some juried opportunities available. Artists who would like to be considered for future exhibitions should visit this page for details.

Fiber Ten Twenty
This juried exhibition celebrating contemporary fiber art is co-sponsored by Missouri Fiber Artists and The Foundry Art Centre. EXHIBITION DATES April 2 - May 14, 2010.  ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY January 26, 2010. prospectus

Small Expressions 2010
Small Expressions is an annual international, juried exhibit featuring high quality, contemporary small-scale works sponsored by the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. to showcase fiber art of a small scale not to exceed 15 inches (38 cm) in any direction. Entry deadline: US: February 8, 2010; Outside US: February 1, 2010.

Cherokee Heritage Center
Annual Trail of Tears Art Show and Sale held each spring. Basketry category includes baskets that are hand-worked of natural fibers and dyes, such as yucca, willow, three-lobed sumac, honeysuckle root, cottonwood, devil’s claw, splints, cane, ash, etc. or hand-worked materials, including horsehair, metal, yarn, horn, bone, etc. Commercial dyes and commercially processed rattan are allowable with disclosure.
